country artists are lending their support to relief efforts for Haiti.
Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 8:58AM But For The Grace Of God: Like many in a position to help, country artists are lending their support to relief efforts for Haiti. Bucky Covington took donations via phone at an Indianapolis Haiti Helpline last Friday (1/15). During Dothan, AL's grand opening of the Country Crossing entertainment complex this past weekend,
Tracy Lawrence, Lorrie Morgan, Neal McCoy, Darryl Worley, Joe Nichols and others led an impromptu Red Cross fundraiser, taking donations from attendees throughout the weekend.
Lady Antebellum's Charles Kelley and wife Cassie McConnell Kelley made a personal donation to the Red Cross. "We were watching the Nightline [coverage]," Charles tells CMT.com. "It was kind of eye-opening and overwhelming. I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was that bad. We were watching the images of people who had been out on the street for two days, bleeding, and there's nowhere to go." Others including Rascal Flatts (who offer up a personal appeal) are spreading awareness through their websites.
